Lachlan knows his beef

Oakey High student, Lachlan Darr, is enjoying significant success in show rings around the Downs, and beyond. His knowledge and cattle handling ability have led to numerous blue ribbons, trophies and prizemoney in Young Judges’ and Paraders’ events this year, and his success continued in the cattle ring at Farm Fest on June 6.

Lachlan exhibited four of his steers at Farm Fest, and entered the Paraders’ for 15 to 16 years competition. He won the Young Paraders’ section for his age and was later named Grand Champion Parader overall.

The talented young cattleman is quickly gaining a reputation as a fitter and for his cattle parading ability in the showring.

Currently, Lachlan spends two days each week working at his schoolbased traineeship in Certificate III in Agriculture with Oakey Beef Exports, so his knowledge of the Beef Industry is comprehensive.

Lachlan is now preparing for the Brisbane Exhibition where he will represent West Moreton & Brisbane Valley in Stud Beef Paraders, and the Darling Downs Sub Chamber in Prime Beef Young Judges and Stud Beef Young Judges.
