Keen students get Head Start

1/07/2016

The results are in on our Head Start students who embarked on University studies at USQ during Summer Semester.

This opportunity is available to motivated, high-achieving Year 10, 11 or 12 students, and enables them to study one university subject during a semester and start their university studies early.

Students can select from a variety of courses where they study alongside other USQ students on campus or online.

To be eligible for participation in the program students must score at least a B in each of their subjects at high school.

Our students undertook their studies from November 2015 until end of February 2016 in what is referred to as Semester 3 and concluding with examinations in February.

Louise Donohoe (Yr 12) received an A in Foundation Psychology, and Riley Ireland (Yr 11) received an A in Engineering Materials. Hayley Osborne (Yr 11) did very well in The Arts Curriculum and Pedagogy while Callum Namour (Yr 11) passed Human Anatomy and Physiology.

We congratulate all of our students on their success in their additional studies.

Through the Head Start program these students are guaranteed entry into a related USQ degree and are now eligible for an academic credit. For more details about Head Start students can visit our school Guidance Officer, Mr Rob Westlake.
