Brody is 2018 DUX

Brody named 2018 Dux
 

Oakey High’s top academic honour for 2018 was awarded to Brody Huxtable at our Annual Awards Night.

After receiving subject awards for Aerospace, Chemistry, Physics, and Information, Processing & Technology during the ceremony, Brody was presented with the prize for Senior Dux by Oakey Lions Club President, Gail Jones. The Club has been proudly sponsoring this award since Oakey High opened in 1964.

Brody and fellow senior student, Ashtyn Knauth, were both rewarded for their exemplary commitment to their studies as they received awards for Year 12 Academic Excellence. Both students were also granted Vice Chancellor Scholarships to USQ in 2019.

Peter Johnstone finished with the Highest Senior Vocational Education and Academic Award, and  also received the UQ Achievement Award.

Grace Fill was named 2018 Caltex Allrounder for her academic performance, commitment to her role as a school Vice Captain, her passion for Visual Arts and her sporting participation and prowess.

Awards for the top academic students in each year level from Years 7 to 11 were presented for the first time during the 2018 ceremony.

Jessica Lee was Top of Year 7 while Mikeelee Casey and Emelia Little shared the honours for Year 8.

Jessica Heyze took out the Year 9 award while Kaila Williamson won the Year 10 award.

In Year 11 the award was shared between Johannah Donohoe and Tanicia Ireland.
